Why was King Otto of Greece deposed in 1862?

King Otto of Greece was deposed in October 1862 following a popular insurrection that began in Vonitsa and quickly spread across the country. His standing had severely suffered due to foreign blockades by the British Royal Navy during the Crimean War and ongoing economic challenges. Ultimately, Otto was ousted while visiting the countryside and died in exile in Bavaria a few years later.
