Before it became the site you are reading, libraryweb.info was a small web magazine about libraries and reading culture online, published between 2008 and 2010. This section exists so that history has a home rather than a dead end.
The archive is deliberately secondary. It explains what the earlier project was, how its subject matter relates to what we publish now, and why old addresses may be pointed here over time instead of returning an error. We do not reconstruct the old pages from memory, and we list no titles or figures we cannot verify.
For current writing, the live sections are the place to start: The Modern Library for what libraries do today, Digital Library for collections that live online, and Future of Knowledge for where all of it is heading.
