What caused the final war of the Roman Republic?

The final war of the Roman Republic was a civil conflict fought between Mark Antony, allied with Cleopatra and Ptolemaic Egypt, and Octavian from 32 to 30 BC. Tensions escalated significantly due to political acts such as the Donations of Alexandria, which caused a fatal rupture in Rome's relations with Antony. Octavian subsequently convinced the Roman Senate to declare war on Cleopatra, leading to a decisive confrontation at the Battle of Actium.
