Privacy policy

Using the site means accepting this policy

By using this site you accept this policy in full. If you do not accept it, stop using the site.

What we ask you for

Nothing. The site has no account, no login, no basket, no form and no comment section. We do not ask who you are and we make no attempt to find out.

Cookies, trackers and third parties

The site sets no cookie, technical or advertising. It runs no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising network and no session recording. Every file a page needs is served from this domain, so loading a page contacts no third party.

Nothing here asks for your consent because nothing here needs it. If that ever changes, this page changes with it.

What the server records

Like every web server, the one that delivers this site writes a line for each request it answers: the IP address the request came from, the date and time, the address requested, the response code, and the browser and operating system the request announced.

  • Why: keeping the site available, diagnosing faults, and defending it against abuse and attack. This is our legitimate interest, and there is no lighter way to run a public server.
  • How long: no longer than those purposes require. Logs are rotated and the older ones deleted; none is kept indefinitely.
  • Who sees it: us, and the technical providers strictly needed to run and protect the site. Nothing is sold, rented, traded or handed over for advertising.

We will disclose what a court, a regulator or the law requires us to disclose, and we may retain and use logs to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

If you write to us

Your address and the content of your message are used to answer you and for nothing else, then deleted once the exchange is over or once any retention the law imposes has run out.

Send nothing you would not want kept. Do not send confidential, sensitive or special-category information. Unsolicited ideas, proposals and material are not treated as confidential, and sending them puts us under no obligation towards you.

Pages that leave this site are governed by their own policies, not by this one. What they collect, and what they do with it, is a matter between them and you.

Where data is processed

Data may be processed on servers located outside the country you are reading from. By using the site you accept that transfer.

Security

We take the measures we consider reasonable to protect the site. No site, no server and no transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we do not warrant that ours is. You use the site at your own risk.

Children

The site is not directed at children, and it asks for no information from anyone, whatever their age.

Your rights over your data

Where the law gives you rights over data concerning you, you may exercise them: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Write to contact@libraryweb.info.

We may ask for whatever we need to satisfy ourselves that a request is genuinely yours, may decline a request that is manifestly unfounded or excessive or that the law allows us to decline, and will keep whatever we are required to keep. You may also complain to the supervisory authority competent for you.

This policy can change

We may change this policy at any time. The version in force is the one published on this page, and it applies from the moment it appears. Continuing to use the site after a change is how you accept the change.

The rules governing use of the site are on the terms of use page.
