What defined Tulip Period Ottoman architecture?

Tulip Period architecture was an early 18th-century style in the Ottoman Empire that introduced new decorative forms and building types, such as stand-alone fountains and libraries, to the classical architectural tradition. Flourishing mainly during the peaceful reign of Ahmed III, the style incorporated early Western European influences. This cultural shift ultimately paved the way for the emergence of Ottoman Baroque architecture in the 1740s.
